Gelinda holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Edith Cowan University, Australia. Since 2017, Gelinda has supported individuals across a wide range of ages, cultural backgrounds, and developmental profiles, including those with and without additional learning or support needs.
Gelinda began her career at a brain enrichment centre, in 2015, where she worked with children aged 18 months to 6 years in a group class setting. Through facilitating these group classes, she perceived the needs that children with additional needs faced, fuelling her passion to learn more, to assist them. In 2017, Gelinda entered the field of Applied Behaviour Analysis. She received training on behaviour principles and looked at identifying individuals’ specific needs, alongside understanding why inappropriate behaviours may occur. With this knowledge, she worked with individuals from 18 months up to 14 years old, with a focused commitment to teaching and supporting them. She provided 1:1 home-based, centre-based and school-based therapy services, alongside group sessions for social skills and school readiness skills. She also provided shadowing services for individuals, sharing strategies with the teachers as advised.
Throughout her career, Gelinda has developed a deep understanding of the value of consistent, proactive support in facilitating meaningful learning and developmental progress. She is especially passionate about implementing individualised programmes which are tailored to each child’s unique strengths, challenges, and potential.
Gelinda firmly believes in a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to care, and is dedicated to working closely with families, as well as allied professionals such as psychologists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure holistic and effective support for each individual.
