Sharlyn graduated from the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia, with a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology extended major). Upon completion of her degree, she worked with children with diverse needs at a Before and After School Care centre in a primary school. She was also a Residential Care Officer with the Queensland Government, supporting individuals with various mental and physical disabilities in their homes and in the community.
Sharlyn also has a Diploma in Child Psychology and Early Education (Special Education) from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore. As part of her Diploma, she has done several internships working as a Teaching Assistant in kindergartens and childcare centres.
Prior to joining Dynamics, Sharlyn was an English as a Second Language Teacher in Japan. As the course coordinator of the literacy course, she worked closely with the director of the company to develop and improve materials for children with learning difficulties.
Sharlyn currently works with individuals aged 4-18 from both SPED and mainstream schools across various subjects and domains. With a strong passion for working with children and adolescents with diverse abilities, Sharlyn believes that all children should be given the opportunity and support to grow and learn in their own ways. She looks forward to collaborating with families and providing clients with skills and strategies to manage their thinking and learning differences.
